Questions, Answered

BEFORE YOU COMMISSION

Do you make marble mandirs for home?

Yes — a marble temple for the home is our founding craft. We carve marble mandirs at home scale, from compact apartment shrines to full-room temples, each with hand-carved shikhara, columns and inlay. Every mandir is made to commission in Makrana white marble. See the mandir collection.

What is the difference between a counter top basin and a pedestal wash basin?

A counter top basin — also called a counter top wash basin or vessel basin — sits on your existing vanity and is typically 150–200 mm deep. A pedestal marble wash basin is a full-height, free-standing column, carved from one block. We make both, and can carve a stone wash basin in dark granite, Nero Marquina or travertine to the same drawing. Counter top basins · Stone wash basins.

Do you supply marble flooring and marble tiles?

On commission, yes. We cut book-matched marble flooring, wall tiles, borders and inlay medallions from the same blocks as our carved work — Makrana white marble, Italian marble and granite — sized to your drawings and shipped ready to lay. See flooring and tiles.

What does marble cost — can you quote a marble price?

Marble price depends on the stone, the block size and the hours of carving, so every commission is quoted individually. Send the drawing, photograph or dimensions on WhatsApp and we confirm stone, lead time and price the same day — flooring and tiles are quoted per square foot.

Makrana or Italian marble — which should I choose?

Makrana marble — sangmarmar — is denser and holds its polish outdoors and in temples for centuries; it is the stone of the Taj Mahal. Italian marble (Statuario, Calacatta, Nero Marquina) offers bolder veining for basins, tables and interiors. We carve both, and will recommend against a stone that does not suit its room.

How does worldwide shipping work?

Every piece is crated in timber and shipped fully insured, door to door. Anything damaged in transit is replaced or repaired at no cost. Lead time is typically 4–10 weeks depending on the commission. Shipping details.

Can you carve from my drawing?

Yes. Send a sketch, a reference photograph or an architect's drawing on WhatsApp — we confirm feasibility, stone and price the same day, and share progress photographs at every stage of carving.
